Dr. Vanhoyte is a passionate academic leader, medical doctor, and educator with a deep commitment to the advancement of psychology, medical education, and student success. As Provost of Okyrie International University, she brings a wealth of experience in academic administration, curriculum development, faculty leadership, and student-centered innovation.
Previously serving as Assistant Dean and then Dean of the School of Medicine, Dr. Vanhoyte has consistently demonstrated excellence in academic leadership. She is recognized for fostering collaborative learning environments and implementing strategic initiatives that elevate institutional performance and enhance the quality of medical training.
Her areas of expertise include curriculum design, faculty development, student engagement, and stakeholder collaboration. She is particularly skilled in building academic programs that blend rigorous scholarship with hands-on learning to prepare students for the evolving demands of the healthcare profession.
Dr. Vanhoyte holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and has earned multiple professional certifications. Her dedication to service extends beyond the academic setting. She has been actively involved in leadership and volunteer roles with several non-for-profit organizations.
Dr. Vanhoyte has been consistently recognized for her academic and leadership excellence. She was honored as the Valedictorian of her graduating class and received a Certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills while serving as Assistant Dean. Her students value her hands-on teaching style, which extends beyond the classroom to equip them with real-world skills and deeper understanding.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Vanhoyte enjoys reading, networking, cooking, playing board games, and engaging in sports. She believes these activities are vital to maintaining a balanced, well-rounded perspective.
