Associate Professor
Dr. Oside is an experienced Attending Physician and academic leader with extensive practice in both advanced and emergency medical settings. As Dean of the Preclinical Science Department and Associate Professor , Dr. Oside brings a strong commitment to academic excellence, clinical training, and compassionate care.
With a career spanning clinical, academic, and community health domains, Dr. Oside has served in multiple roles including Medical Officer, Lecturer, and Associate Professor. At the university level, he has taught pre-medical students’ courses such as Medical Terminology and Histology. At the medical school level, he has delivered instruction in Biochemistry, Genetics, Anatomy, and clinical exam preparation for final-year students.
Dr. Oside earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Lugansk State Medical University in Ukraine and holds certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). He is registered with both the Caribbean Association of Medical Councils and the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
In addition to his academic and clinical roles, Dr. Oside is the Country Director for the Mary-Zitta Foundation’s Guyana branch. He devotes time to supporting widows and orphans by providing basic needs and empowering them with tools for self-sufficiency. He also works alongside Dr. Mary-Zitta in delivering community health outreach and education to at-risk populations.
Dr. Oside is passionate about improving patient outcomes through thoughtful analysis, process optimization, and collaborative care. He believes in treating others with dignity and respect—principles that guide both his professional and personal life. Outside of his medical and academic responsibilities, Dr. Oside enjoys playing football, writing songs, and listening to music to unwind and recharge after a demanding day
