Associate Professor

Ms. Harry brings a dynamic blend of military discipline, public service, and academic leadership to Okyrie International University. As Vice President of Academic Affairs, she leads the university’s academic strategy, fosters faculty development, and champions student-centered learning across disciplines.

Before entering academia, Harry served in the United States military, an experience that laid the groundwork for a lifelong commitment to service and leadership. She went on to spend over 17 years in the New York City Department of Education as an intermediate and secondary school educator. During that time, she held various leadership roles, including department chair, lead teacher, senior advisor, and UFT delegate.

Harry holds a bachelor’s degree with distinction from Long Island University, where she double majored in Political Science and History and minored in Economics. She also earned a Master’s in Public Administration and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from New York University. While completing graduate work, she served with a nonprofit supporting children and families—a role that inspired a transition to education.

To further strengthen her impact in educational leadership, Harry earned a Master of Science in Education along with certifications in School Building Leadership (SBL) and School District Leadership (SDL). She is currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a focus on equity, innovation, and institutional effectiveness in higher education.

Harry is passionate about developing inclusive academic policies, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, and expanding access to education for underserved populations. Outside of professional life, she enjoys jogging, kickboxing, tai chi, Arnis, line dancing, and reggae music.
